Massachusetts Guardianship / Conservatorship Lawyers

When an adult can no longer manage his or her affairs, it may be necessary to take legal action to protect that person and the person's assets.

At Colucci Colucci Marcus & Flavin, PC, we create legal vehicles that enable our clients to protect the health and assets of loved ones who are no longer able to care for themselves. These include:

  • Guardianship — names someone to manage the personal affairs of an incapacitated person.
  • Conservatorship — names someone to manage the financial affairs of an incapacitated person.

In some cases, it may be possible to protect a vulnerable person's assets without having to create a conservatorship. A trust or durable power of attorney can accomplish most or all of the same goals as a conservatorship at less cost. An attorney at our firm can review your loved one's situation and recommend the best course of action to take.

A Personalized Solution

At Colucci Colucci Marcus & Flavin, PC, we provide practical, realistic advice designed to solve real problems. We will take time to understand each client's situation, and will create a personalized solution for your loved one. Trust and integrity are key in the selection and appointment of a guardian or conservator. We will discuss these issues with you and guide you to making the right choice for your family member.

In some cases where the vulnerable person has no close relatives, an attorney at our firm can serve as a guardian or conservator, by appointment from the court.
