Since his admission to the Massachusetts bar in 1988, Mr. Colucci has concentrated his practice in the area of personal injury litigation. During the course of his long professional career, he has been entrusted to prosecute claims on behalf of a variety of clients such as victims of: (i) the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001, (ii) Whitey Bulger and his F.B.I. accomplices, (iii) aviation disasters, (iv) commercial trucking accidents, as well as, (v) both medical and legal malpractice. For over a decade, he has largely undertaken the representation of the elderly and infirm that are among the growing number of helpless victims of nursing home negligence and abuse. Recognized as a singular leader in this emerging field, when the Boston Globe conducted research before printing an important expose on nursing home negligence, they consulted and quoted Attorney Colucci. As regularly reported by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly newspaper, he has consistently achieved remarkable results for his clients both in the form of negotiated settlements and success at trial. Indeed, a jury verdict that he obtained after a particularly lengthy trial in Norfolk County Superior Court remains one of the decade’s top awards.
Mr. Colucci is a personal injury litigation attorney in Boston, MA, who has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors over the years. He has consistently been recognized by his peers as a ‘Massachusetts Super Lawyer’ as published in Boston Magazine. The “Super Lawyer” honor is bestowed upon the top 5% of lawyers in the state who have achieved a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. In 2016, he was added to “The Best Lawyers in America” legal referral guide. Both publications depend on the endorsements of other attorneys to compile lists of top attorneys in the area. In essence, lawyers are asked who they would choose among their peers if they needed the services of an attorney. “The Best Lawyers in America” is nationally recognized as the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. Mr. Colucci is certified as a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the top trial lawyers in America. Recognized as one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States, membership in the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards and settlements. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers can claim to be members of this exclusive organization. Mr. Colucci also frequently serves as a private mediator and has enjoyed great success in helping parties resolve complex civil disputes. Because of his reputation for achievement in the field of mediation, he was selected and specially appointed by the Superior Court to resolve a contentious case that involved eight parties who had been mired in litigation over the course of 7 years, at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars. The dispute was fully and promptly resolved under Mr. Colucci’s direction and the case, at long last, was dismissed.
For many years Mr. Colucci served as the Chair for Suffolk University Law School’s Advanced Legal Studies Committee and has frequently lectured and written on a host of topical legal subjects. He was elected to serve as a member of Suffolk University’s Board of Trustees in 2002 where he chaired the Audit Committee. He was selected to serve an important role on Suffolk University’s Dean Search Committee as well as on the Provost Search Committee.
